What I Wore: Day 3 Haley's Look

Fashion week is a daunting event to dress for, I’ll start there.

Knowing that you will be brushing shoulders with editors and bloggers from your favorite website and publications (no joke I nearly collided with Anna Wintour) puts tremendous weight on the shoulders of a girl who allocates her budget to just a few “investment pieces” per season. I had little
new to wear to fashion week! But it was okay, because of said investment pieces. They carried me through, just as I told myself they would when I very calmly slid my Amex across the counter so many months ago.
Thanks to the onset of Nike frees, midi skirts and slouchy tee shirts a la The Row, you’re far more likely to see editors sprinting from one show to the next rather than teetering by on stilettos. This being my first, official fashion week, I wanted to dress up for the occasion – look the part, if you will. Enter my trusty jumpsuit and pink heels. My style aesthetic is slowly morphing, changing from “Light and Colorful” into “Go Dark – with a punch!”  If I’m wearing dark colors for a night time event, you best believe there will be a “colored lining.” That is to say, you’ll find a bit of color somewhere on my person. Add some interest I say! Monochromatic is good. Great actually, for day. Black on black with a sensible heel will always look pulled together. But let’s face it, nighttime and fashion week are for turning heads! My simple, navy blue palette begged for  a sporty topknot and pink shoes!

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it thrice – this right here is the dream team.

I feel like I was the victor here. Classic pieces for the win! Best of all, my nikes got the night off.

An enormous THANK YOU to our Editor In Chief, Carrie Johnson for making our New York Fashion Week experience come to fruition. I’ve been gifted many things and people and experiences in life that I do not deserve. This week and these women are prime examples. Thank you for everything, boss.

From the tips of my high heels,

Haley
