Three Peas in a Holiday Pod

Ok. So this name change thing. I’ve been on the fence for a while now, wondering if I should break away from Style Me Perfect, and create my own space for a blog (rather than via my company), and this last month of big changes for our family kind of solidified it for me. The recent death of my father-in-law, the sudden change from moving to Europe, to settling permanently, here in Bend, Oregon, adapting to farm life (which I absolutely embrace and love)…. All of it culminated into making this decision pretty easy for me. It’s simply a season for changes, and I’m happy (and excited!) to navigate them, as my Heavenly Father leads. Style Me Perfect has been my little style baby for several years now, but for some crazy reason, my little blog is starting to generate more income than my company (all thanks to you, my sweet readers and clicker-shoppers!)! And to be honest, I enjoy blogging more – not just for the creative outlet, but because I can do it on my own time, and not have to labor so hard at making my family come first. I’m still keeping my little stylist roster of clients, and will continue to style and blog away, but for now, I’m shutting the doors of Style Me Perfect for a while. I love the idea of re-visiting, and re-vamping her in the future, when my kiddos are a little older, so it’s not a “goodbye,” just a “see ya later.” :)

So that’s the story behind the change. Why “They Call Her Smith?” I chose it for a few reasons. In the social media circus of “Look at me! Look at me!” I wanted something a little more understated and anonymous. My new life here on the farm is a rustic, simple one, and I wanted something that reflected that. I also like that I can play with the word “Smith” – like a blacksmith, I could be a stylesmith, a homesmith, etc… I will soon move to theycallhersmith.com, and will announce when she’s all ready – most likely in the New Year!

So, now you’re up to speed, and hopefully understand where I’m coming from with all these changes. I’m so excited for what’s to come, and very eager to get started on creating and building our home, here on the farm! I’m looking forward to taking you with me on our home-building journey, as well as continuing to include you in my family’s, and personal style journey, as well. I can’t thank you enough for all your support and encouragement through this process, and hope you continue to stick around with me – it would mean so much!

Now that business has been taken care of, let’s move on to some fun! Here are some recent holiday pics I took with my girls. My husband took so many cute ones, it was hard to choose, so I apologize there are so many – I just couldn’t decide which ones to leave out…!
