Stripes to the Max(i)

Overused terms like “Now and Later” and “Transitional Style” seem to be taking over our little fashion worlds by storm like a torrential trend, and although I’m pretty weary of them, their over-use is for a valid reason. It’s almost fall, but not quite. Although mornings/evenings might be feeling cooler, it’s still hottt during the day. Short sundresses and espadrilles don’t seem quite right anymore, yet the thought of leather pants and fur could make one nauseous. Hence, the obnoxious terms (that I won’t mention again). My personal answer to this fashion conundrum? Breezy-light layering, anchored by a wearable, fall-like piece or two.

Tee: Madewell. Maxi: The Limited (old ). Jacket: Gar-De (old – similar). Necklaces: Nasty Gal + Diana Warner. Clutch: Reiss (similar). Shoes: Zara. Sunnies: Ray-Ban. Nails: Julep in “Margaret.”

The maxi and tee I’m wearing are each ultra-light, and although the jacket is, too, the leather fabric kicks it up to fall level, and is a piece I’ll wear throughout winter, and into spring, as well! The suede bootie-sandals also speak fall/winter language, but are easy to wear right now.

See? Super simple, and kitsch-free!
